Kangna Ranaut (born 23 March 1987) is a Hindi-language film producer and actress from India. She has received various honours, including four National Film Awards, five Filmfare Awards, and has appeared six times in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list. She is well known for her performance in female-led films. She received the fourth-highest civilian honour in India, the Padma Shri, from the Indian government in 2020.

- Kangana was born in Himachal Pradesh to a prosperous Rajput landowner family.
- She was raised in a traditional, male-dominated joint household, and the prejudiced restrictions turned her into a rebel. “My father smacked me for the very first time at 15 and I told him, If you slap me, I’ll slap you back,” she said in an interview. At the age of 16, her mother wanted her to get married, but Kangana immediately expressed her opposition.
