Ameesha Patel (born 9 June 1975) is a model and actress from India who primarily features in Hindi movies and a few Telugu ones. With the romantic thriller movie Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, she began her acting career in 2000.

- The first three letters of her father’s name, Amit, and the last three letters of her mother’s name, Asha, were combined to form her birth name, Amisha.
- Gujarati parents gave birth to Ameesha Patel. Rajni Patel, her grandfather, was a well-known lawyer and politician who had earlier presided over the Pradesh Congress Committee in Mumbai. Ameesha Patel’s grandfather was Rajni Patel.
- She began studying Bharatanatyam when she was just five years old, and in a very short time, she was trained in it.
- Patel received an offer from Morgan Stanley, an American investment banking firm, after earning her degree in the USA, but she declined it.
- After arriving back in India, Patel joined Satyadev Dubey’s theatre company and participated in productions, including the Urdu play Neelam (1999).
