Jacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is a model and actress from Sri Lanka. She has been in reality shows and music videos in addition to working in Indian films, mostly in Hindi. Jacqueline Fernandez After making her acting debut in 2009’s Aladin, she went on to have a successful career in Hindi cinema. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) expressed their displeasure. • The actress was brought before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on October 20, 2021 for questioning in connection with an over Rs 200 crore money laundering case brought against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekar, after having ignored three summonses from the agency. The actress was detained by immigration officers at the Mumbai Airport on December 5, 2021, following the issuance of a LOC (Look Out Circular) by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Sukesh Chandrasekar case. The actress was reportedly on her way to Dubai for a performance when she was detained and taken in for a quick interrogation. According to some media reports, the ED has documentation of financial dealings between Sukesh Chandrasekar and Jacqueline Fernandez. The actress reportedly received gifts from the alleged conman, including a horse valued at Rs. 52 lakhs and a Persian cat valued at Rs. 9 lakhs, totaling Rs. 10 crores. According to the ED’s chargesheet against Sukesh, the actress was not interested in speaking with him, so he allegedly called her from a Union ministry—Amit Shah’s Home ministry—while pretending to be a senior official. Sukesh allegedly attempted to get in touch with Fernandez via her makeup artist, but when she declined, he allegedly dialled a “spoof number,” pretending to be a “very important person in the Government.” Sukesh claimed to be from “Jayalalithaa’s political party and proprietor of Sun TV,” according to ED officials. The agency added that Sukesh had maintained contact with Fernandez up to his arrest and had “given her with different presents, organised chartered flights for her to travel throughout India, booked her hotel room, and made financial payments to a script writer on (her) behalf… ” Sukesh Chandrashekhar paid all of these bills and expenses with earnings from criminal activity connected to a planned offence. According to the ED, the actress acknowledged receiving presents during questioning, including three Gucci and Chanel designer bags, two Gucci workout clothes, a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two sets of diamond earrings, a bracelet made of multicoloured stones, and two Hermes bracelets. She was also given a Mini Cooper, which she later gave back. |
